These instructions walk you through creating a duplicate version of the database and how to sort which tricks you have already learned and which tricks you have yet to explore! Through this method you can also create a list of favorites, or a queue of tricks to learn next, or any other view you’d like. With your own database you will also be able to make adjustments to how you want to utilize it, including creating advanced filters.

Please note that this method will create your own copy of the database that only includes the data in the database at the time of duplicating. You will need to periodically repeat this method if you want the most up-to date version of the database.

Instructions

  1. Create a Notion account and log in.
  2. Visit the Poi Tricks Database link.
  3. Click ‘Duplicate’ in the top right corner of the page. This will make a duplicate version of the database to your own Notion account.
  4. Select the + button at the top of the far right column of the new database to add a new property [next to the ‘Type(s)’ column] and click ‘Checkbox.’
  5. (Optional) Drag the Checkbox column to the far left and adjust the width to the thinnest possible.
  6. Create a new view by clicking the + button next to ‘Gallery’ at the top left of the database. You can rename this view as ‘Learned’ or something similar.
  7. Click on ‘Filter’ at the top right of the database and select ‘Checkbox.’ In the popup, select ‘Checked.’
  8. Go back to the first view labeled ‘Table’ and again create a checkbox filter, this time selecting ‘Unchecked.’ Do the same for the ‘Gallery’ view.
  9. Congratulations! Now you can view which tricks you have already learned and which you have yet to explore. Happy spinning!
